iOnUptown

The iOn Uptown Program is a student run monthly internet video show which will air on its own dedicated channel on the internet site YouTube. The show is also embedded here on our website and linked to from our MySpace and Facebook pages. Each fifteen minute iOn Uptown episode features student hosts delivering the latest Uptown Music Collective news, interviewing students, teachers and other people of interest and introducing music clips that feature students and local musicians. Written, produced and hosted by students, the iOn Uptown Program educates participants in the most popular medium used by musicians today to market themselves and their music, the internet.

Through this free program, students gain experience on both sides of the camera. Production crew members learn to use state of the art equipment to film music videos, live performances and interviews; produce and edit the raw video and audio footage into a finished product, and upload that finished product to the World Wide Web. Hosts, performers and interviewees receive high impact experiences in front of the camera, developing screen presence and communication skills, ultimately leading to a stronger sense of confidence and self worth.

Currently, the iOnUptown program is in the process of being revived and updated for our next generation of music students. Keep an eye on this page for more updates!
