For those wanting to dig deep into the heart of the Uptown Music Collective, we provide an opportunity to for them to give directly to our Performance program. The money received goes straight to creating unprecedented innovations for our student musicians to perform.
As the heart of our curriculum, the Uptown Music Collective puts on at least two major productions each year, in the fall and the spring. These productions usually take place at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, PA, and involve some of the Collective’s most talented students.
Due to the elaborate nature of these shows, they do cost a considerable amount of money to put on. Not only must students practice their pieces, but the UMC must also coordinate sound systems, create sets, advertise the event around the community, and in some cases, acquire permission from the original artists to use their material. These costs add up, and it would be wonderful if we could use funds not otherwise allocated to finance these productions.
In that event, we are asking for local corporate sponsors to consider making a financial contribution to these events.
What’s in it for me?
We don’t just expect you to write a check and never hear from us again. Sponsoring a Uptown Music Collective performance event supplies you with many benefits as well. Depending on the level of contribution, your company will be able to advertise on much of the promotional material event, you will be invited to attend the performance free of charge, and your company’s name will publicly thanked on stage after the show. Our shows regularly attract between 1,600 and 2,000 attendees during each run.
A lot of what we have to offer businesses is brand recognition and positive association: people like businesses who give back to their customers. When a customer has to choose between two brands or two stores, they’re more likely to go with the one whom they know contributes to the local community . With that in mind, supporting the students at the Uptown Music Collective is a great way to spread awareness of your brand throughout the Williamsport Community.
If you’re interested in helping our kids put on the best performance possible, please consider becoming an official sponsor of one of our performances. Call us at (570) 329-0888, or e-mail Dave Brumbaugh, our executive director. We thank you for generosity.
