DAVE BRUMBAUGH: GUITAR TEACHER/MUSIC THEORY TEACHER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
I am the
founder, guitar/bass/music theory teacher and executive director of the Uptown Music Collective. This organization has been my labor of love for the past 12 years and there is no place I would rather spend my days then surrounded by talented and hardworking young musicians.
I currently teach higher intermediate to advanced private guitar and bass lessons, classes and workshops, and oversee the schools day to day oper
ations. I also coach the students who participate in the Uptown Music Collective’s Major Performances and produce the performances as well.
Where most of the teachers at the Uptown Music Collective take students of all levels, I usually will only take guitar and bass students who have already moved through the beginning levels of the curriculum. They must have demonstrated that they are ready to be challenged and are willing to work hard. I am a stern and demanding taskmaster whose main goal is to teach student to be disciplined, respectfu
l, hard working and above all things musical. I demand that my students give me their best at all times and in return I share everything that I have learned in my 34 years of studying music and the guitar with them.
I live in Williamsport with my wife Barbara and my two children, Evan and Isabelle (Izzy) who can be found running through the halls of the Collective in the late afternoon and early evening. My door is always open for students and their parents, please don’t hesitate to come and talk with me or email me at dave@uptownmusic.org
