Nothing is more important then the ability to hear and understand music. Ear Training 1 and 2 teach students how to listen, understand and notate or perform what they hear.

Listening Lab

Musicians need to hear music in a different way than the average listener. In this class students will learn to identify instruments, effects and other elements of recordings that will ultimately lead to a heightened understanding of music.

Listening and Analysis

ID: L&A

In this class, students will learn to identify the song structure, style, groove, basic harmonic and melodic concept and arrangement of a song after  just a few listenings. This an important class for any serious musician.

Performance Ear Training

ID: PET

Aimed at live playing and improvisation, this ear training class emphasizes hearing, understanding and responding to other performers in a performance setting.
