Often over-looked or relegated to the status of a secondary instrument for guitar-players, the bass guitar offers a wealth of harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic possibilities when played with the correct respect and musical understanding.  At the Uptown Music Collective, we take bass instruction seriously by instructing our bass students in all idioms and styles and teaching them to recognize the incredible potential of the bass when used creatively.  Well-versed in the sounds and techniques of genres such as jazz, rock, funk, and blues, our bass instructors understand the unique musical and technical challenges posed by this unique instrument, and seek to train students to be sensitive, capable musicians comfortable performing in any musical setting.
