An educated rhythmic competence and a strong sense of musicality are the concepts emphasized by the Uptown Music Collective’s drum curriculum.  Striving to produce drummers that can play creatively and musically, the Collective’s drum program explores the nuance and complexity of jazz and Latin rhythms without loosing the excitement of the driving rhythmic propulsion inherent in rock music that draws so many students to the drums.
